Within the growing TED-Ed video library, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed platform. This platform also allows users to take any useful educational video, not just TED’s, and easily create a customized lesson around the video. Users can distribute the lessons, publicly or privately, and track their impact on the world, a class, or an individual student.

10年前,微软创始人Bill Gates就梦想着打造一个全自动化的家庭,希望将家里所有的一切都智能化。如今,微软的这项计划已经取得进展。据CNET报道,微软已经在12个实体家庭对该项目模型进行长达8个月的测试,而且已经有42名学生为其开发了新的应用。

2010年,微软研究人员发布了关于HomeOS和HomeStore的白皮书。近日,微软在其官方网站公开发布了名为“An Operating System For The Home”(家庭操作系统)的一份报告

HomeOS主要针对家庭里的各种设备,非常类似PC的概念。像家里的电灯、电视、摄像头、游戏机、路由器、打印机、PC以及手机等设备,将作为外围设备连接到一个单独的PC而出现在HomeOS。该报告没有明确说明HomeOS是来源于Windows或者基于Windows系统(微软内部有基于其它操作系统的研究项目,像Singularity 和 Midori都不是基于Windows的),但是却阐明了HomeOS使用了C#和 .Net Framework 4.0。

HomeOS的核心在于,其内核将允许其它设备和应用很容易的接入这套系统。HomeOS本身将运行于一个专门的电脑,并且无需对设备做任何的修改。 目前微软已经在12个实体家庭对该项目模型进行长达4-8个月的测试,而且已经有42名学生为其开发了新的应用。

同时HomeStore仍然是HomeOS的一部分,其角色就像苹果的App商店对于其智能手机iPhone一样,为它提供并查询新的应用、驱动以及设备。目前仍然不知道微软将何时正式将这个项目商业化,不过既然模型已经进入实体家庭了,我想商业化的时间应该不会太长。

昨日,思科发布了《思科视觉化网络指数:全球移动数据流量预测更新2011-2016》报告。该报告通过对1997年到2011年互联网和移动设备相关的数据进行统计,然后对未来移动设备和数据的发展趋势进了的预测。

我们筛选了其中16个自2011到2016年移动设备和数据分析趋势图,并简单解析,供各位参考。

1. 月移动流量增长趋势。其中到2016年,每月移动数据流量10.8EB,平均年复合增长率(CAGR)为78%。(1EB=1000PB,1PB=1000TB,1TB=1000GB)

2. 各地区移动数据增长趋势。亚洲地区增长最快,2016年占全球数据流量的40%。西欧占22.56%,其次是北美、拉丁美洲、东欧和中欧、中东地区和非洲。

3. 各移动设备所占比例。智能手机最高,占48.3%,其次是笔记本(包括上网本)和平板电脑各占24.2%和10%。

4. 高端设备和非智能手机流量比较。有点意外的是,移动投影电话的数据流量仅次于笔记本,相当于300个非智能手机流量。

5. 有两台或更多移动设备的用户所占比例。到了2016年,手中至少有两台移动设备的用户将占总人数的四分之一。

6. 2016年,移动视频将贡献70%的流量!网页数据贡献了20%。剩下的不到10%,最令人难以置信的是,手机游戏的流量只占总流量的1.1%。

7. 网络应用使用流量所占比例。该数据来自美国本土,其中流媒体应用Netflix贡献了近三分之一的流量,音乐应用Pandora只占14%左右,社交应用占10%左右,网页和邮件约为40%。

8. 所有移动数据流量中,2016年来自电信运营商网络的流量只占78%,另外22%来自于WiFi等网络。

9. 在手机和平板设备的数据流量中,这一比例略微上涨,电信网络数据占近三分之一。

10. 1%的用户在第一月贡献了52%的月流量,到第21个月之后这一比例下降到24%。

11. 在年流量增长比中,20%的用户贡献了102%的增长,另外1%的用户贡献了37%的增长。

12. 在所有用户中,只有1%的用户每月会用掉5GB的数据流量,每月使用2GB流量的用户也不到3%。其中绝大部分每月流量在200M之下。

13. 操作系统每月贡献的流量(MB),Android系统使用流量最大,每月在800MB左右。其次是苹果的iOS和Windows。

14. 计算机之间的数据传输量五年之后将增长22倍,达到每月508PB。(1PB=1000TB,1TB=1000GB)

15. 到2016年,全球可以支持IPv6协议的智能手机和平板将达到16亿台。而去年只有2.8亿台。年复合增长率约42%。

16. 到2016年,全球支持IPv6协议的移动设备将超过40亿。
